UMP hosts roundtable in partnership with Liverpool City Region on the development of LCR Local Transport Plan

November 15, 2023

The Urban Mobility Partnership was delighted to hold a joint roundtable with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, to support the development of the City Region’s Local Transport Plan. The City Region has committed to progress the city’s region-wide Local Transport Plan until 2040, with a particular focus on policies for a multi-modal and sustainable transport system.

This roundtable, jointly chaired by Councillor Steve Foulkes, Chair of the Transport Committee at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Tim Lausch, VP Public Transport Management at Conduent, focused on the key transport challenges facing the City Region, and offered an opportunity for UMP members, alongside local businesses and Chambers of Commerce, to discuss what is required to deliver effective and sustainable solutions.

Huw Jenkins, Transport Policy Lead at Liverpool City Region Combined Authority gave an update on the LTP and challenges in the City Region, and presentations on integrating active travel were delivered by Vinita Saxena, from Brompton Bike Hire, and Michael Ventouris, from Dott.

This was a fantastic joint event, and we’re very excited to work so closely with the City Region, transport officers, local councillors, and local industry, to ensure that the Local Transport Plan delivers on Liverpool’s vision.
