Transport and Energy: UMP features in article on developing solutions to urban mobility

December 12, 2023

In an article for Transport and Energy, James Lancaster, chair of the Urban Mobility Partnership, explains why the group was formed.

One key reason was to develop practical policies and work with government to implement sustainable mobility solutions, such as mobility credits, in order to incentivise greener transportation.

Lancaster explains how UMP brings together diverse transportation operators to collaborate on multi-modal solutions for issues like emissions and congestion. By engaging with local and national government, UMP aims to ensure sustainable transportation is on the political agenda and necessary guidance is provided.

Looking ahead, UMP will continue expanding its reach and developing innovative policies to contribute to an effective, sustainable, and multi-modal future of mobility.
