Greenfleet has featured the Urban Mobility Partnership’s launch of its policy paper calling for businesses and public organisations to reduce reliance on personal vehicles for business travel to help meet decarbonisation goals.
The paper examines the problems of “grey fleet” usage and offers recommendations like removing private vehicle requirements from employee contracts and incentivising sustainable transportation options.
UMP wants national policy changes like mobility tax credits and updated Benefit in Kind Tax rules to support the transition away from grey fleet vehicles. The policy paper launch brought together decision makers to discuss ideas for supporting sustainable employee transportation.
