The Department for Transport has published a voluntary Mobility as a Service (MaaS) Code of Practice to support the development of multi-modal travel platforms.
The Urban Mobility Partnership welcomed the code, with chair James Lancaster saying it marks a significant moment for MaaS in the UK and has potential to transform how people move around, driving the UK forward as leaders in smart and sustainable mobility.
It is vital that recommendations from the code are recognised by transport planners and local authorities in their MaaS plans to ensure they are consumer-focused.
The partnership sees the code as a springboard for innovative MaaS projects that can help decarbonize transport and give consumers more travel choices.
