UMP Partner Fleetondemand’s award-winning Mobility as a Service (MaaS) application Mobilleo has been chosen by Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to power its ground-breaking IMOVE project. The EU Funded IMOVE project, supported by TfGM, was established to create an integrated travel solution for the people of Manchester by improving the way that different modes of transport work together in the city. The aims of the project are to improve air quality, reduce congestion and encourage shared and active travel by allowing passengers to manage their journeys using a single application.TfGM worked closely with Fleetondemand’s industry-leading Mobilleo platform to consolidate multiple modes of transport for the project into a single IMOVE branded app. The bespoke IMOVE app provides travellers with instant access to car hire, car clubs, demand responsive minibuses, buses, trams and trains, allowing them to plan, book and pay for each journey conveniently using any iOS or Android device. UMP partners Stagecoach Group and Enterprise were also involved in the pilot as delivery operators.James Lancaster of the Urban Mobility Partnership said: “ This exciting pilot brings UMP partners together with a progressive attitude from local government, to help make it easier for consumers to switch to sustainable methods of transport. It is the first opportunity for UMP members to put policy suggestions into practice and if successful, could be rolled out in other cities across the UK. We look forward to working with TFGM to assess the results of this pilot and to implementing similar multi-modal digital solutions to the future of mobility in urban areas.”
